What is so good about Apple?
Apple’s best trait is how mainstream it is.
There are so many people using Apple products that their designs are starting to feel generic.
What’s good about being mainstream is that every problem you encounter has probably already been encountered by 10–100 other people, and action has probably already been taken on it.
Let’s take an example.
The iPhone 6 Plus. Bendgate. Remember?
Remember this guy?
Yeah, let’s go back there.
Lewis, from Unbox Therapy heard of iPhone 6 Pluses bending one morning, and decided to make a video about it. He was not only able to bend it with his bare hands, but also manged to start a whole revolt against Apple. Apple was forced to initiate a recall, where it will replace any bent iPhones. It also had to add a metal structural piece to every new iPhone produced.
Let’s take an example of an Android phone where something similar happened.
The Google Nexus 6P.
This phone cracks in half faster than a 2mm pane of glass. Zack, from Jerryrigeverything bent in half with his bare hands, and said that he never had seen such a terribly built phone. Yet this phone went off the radar. This was half as easy to bend as the iPhone, yet Google didn’t take any action.
This went unnoticed because not enough people use it.
It wasn't mainstream enough.
You can’t really go wrong when you buy from Apple.
