Why does a Android phone slow down with time but iOS doesn't?

ndroid slows down because of the way it works.
Android is a software marvel where one operating system runs on more than a thousand different unknown hardware configurations.
iOS is an operating system that has to run on 15 different known hardware configurations at any given time.
Guess which operating system is more stable.
When Apple designs their processors, they pack in as much raw power they can. When someone like Qualcomm does it, they have to incorporate Fast Charging, and many other features similar to it.
Apple’s processors are much better than the ones used on Android phones. Android phones have to depend on optimism in order to compete with the iPhone.
Not only does Android have a hard time keeping up with iOS because the way it works, but also the way it allows up to change anything we want. When we install something like a launcher or a lock screen, it adds a layer between the user’s action and the phone’s reaction. These layers pile up to make Android phones slow down over time.
iOS doesn’t face this because it is more locked down and doesn’t allow you to do things like Android does.

Android does NOT slow down. The manufacturer bloatware and habits of the user slow it down. Of course, if you are still using an Android phone with 1GB RAM or lower, it will naturally be slower because most new apps and firmware are designed for slightly more modern handsets. When you buy from a major manufacturer like Samsung, Sony, Xiaomi etc you are basically getting a skin + launcher over the stock Android. They have fancy names for these skins: Xiaomi calls it MIUI, HTC calls it Sense, etc. But these are little more than marketing gimmicks. Each manufacturer wants you to always be informed that you are using their product. So they load up their devices with several useless apps which a novice cannot uninstall. The result? All these fancy looking UIs might look swag but eat away at the RAM, processor and battery, essentially slowing your phone down. Unlike iOS which is a restricted but pure out of the box expericence, Android takes a little bit of expert tweaking to get the max out of it. Unfortunately 90% Android users know nothing about how Android really works. They expect it work as smooth as iOS.
I still have a OnePlus One from December 2014 which works like a charm. I have over 200 Apps installed. I still get 1.5 days of usage and the phone never heats up. OnePlus Oxygen OS was almost as light as stock Android but lacked features. So, I rooted the phone and installed a custom ROM called Mokee. It is super efficient and loaded with features. When you root your device, you get the freedom to choose any custom ROM. Most custom ROM are made by freelance developers who put practicality in front of Brand, Marketing and all the other jazz. OnePlus does not void your warranty but unfortuantely most manufacturers do.
So, in order to keep your Android phone running fast, install a custom ROM depending on your device. Most of them are actually better than factory installed ROMs. Monitor your memory once in a while, keep atleast 20–30% RAM free. Trust me, Android does not slow down at all!
