Samsung Galaxy J3 (2018) with 5″ HD Display & 2GB RAM Spotted on GFXbench
From the past weeks, we have been seeing several leaks about the 2018 Galaxy smartphones from Samsung. Just yesterday, the Galaxy A5 (2018) is spotted on the HTML5test website. Now, the entry-level Galaxy J3 (2018) is listed on GFXbench revealing few key specifications. We can expect this smartphone to go official by the end of this year or early next year. The Galaxy J3 (2018) comes with the model number SM-J337.
According to the listing, the device sports a 5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the unspecified quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. However, the processor is mentioned to come coupled with the powerful Mali G71 GPU. The device includes just 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with the customized TouchWiz UI laid on top.
In the camera department, there is an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Both the cameras are said to support up to 1080p video recording. As seen with the Galaxy J3 (2017), the 2018 variant might also continue to feature polycarbonate body. Though the listing mentioned the Galaxy J3 (2018) to come with single SIM support, we will be seeing the dual SIM variant at least in Asian markets.
It also includes an accelerometer, e-compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensors. The Galaxy J3 (2017) along with Galaxy J5 (2017) and Galaxy J7 (2017) are launched in May this year. Just like the Galaxy J3 (2018), its predecessor also came with the same 5-inch HD display. It also offered Exynos 7570 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. In terms of optics, the Galaxy J3 (2017) sports a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera.
The smartphone is backed by a 2,400mAh battery and lacks fast charging technology. As of now, there is no information about the pricing and availability of the Galaxy J3 (2018) smartphone. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
