Tata Motors has introduced a special "urban" edition of the Hexa. Called the Hexa Downtown, it is priced at Rs 12.18 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the entry-level XE variant. The Downtown treatment is available in two packages - Absolute and Indulge.....
Depending on the variant chosen, you’ll get a predefined package installed for a premium. For instance, if opted for the Absolute package, Tata Motors will add more features like wireless mobile charging, seat covers, side steps and Downtown badging. However, if you opt for the Indulge package, you can get additional things like a heads-up display, newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels and rear seat entertainment system......

Apart from the those, the Hexa Downtown will also be offered in the an exclusive body paint - Urban Bronze. Tata Motors say that the Hexa Downtown will be available for a limited period only and is now available to order from all its authorised dealerships......
The Tata Hexa is loaded with features such as projector headlamps, 19-inch alloy wheels, LED taillamps and a 10-speaker JBL audio system among others. It gets the 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel engine with either 150PS/320Nm (for the base XE variant) or 156PS/400Nm on tap. While the one with the lower state of tune is available with a 5-speed manual, the latter can be had with a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed automatic. It's available in a total of six variants - XE, XM, XMA, XT, XTA and XT 4x4. The top-end XT 4x4 is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission. The Hexa delivers a mileage of 17.6kmpl...
The Tata Hexa is tagged in the price bracket of Rs 11.72 - 17.19 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). It rivals with the likes of the Mahindra XUV500 and Toyota Innova Crysta....
Tata Hexa has emerged as a promising newbie which replaces the Aria. The SUV has been built with Tata’s new design language – HorizonNext. Moreover, the build, quality and equipment on the Hexa matches modern benchmarks....
In terms of dimensions, the Hexa measures 4,764mm in length, 1,895mm in length and 1,780mm in height. The vehicle has a long wheelbase of 2,850mm. The car's fascia boasts of newly designed projector headlamps, a honeycomb grille and new bumper with fog lamps. The horizontal chrome slat under the grille extends towards the headlamps and the honeycomb pattern can also be seen on the front chin.
As for the sides, the newly designed 19-inch alloy wheels can be seen. Though the overall design is similar to the Aria, the Hexa gets a sporty design language which is continued at the rear as well. The rear bumper, with dual exhaust tips, gets a dual-tone paint scheme with a new shape for the reflectors. The tail lamps are horizontal and come with LED units. A new spoiler can also be seen at the back.

Tata Hexa gets an all black interior with silver coloured accents to give the interior a premium feel. It gets automatic climate control with a separate zone AC for the rear and third row passengers. The cabin is roomy and the third row allows adults to sit comfortably. The top-spec car gets leather upholstery, steering mounted controls for the infotainment system, electrically adjustable and retractable outside rear view mirrors. The audio system gets a gets a touchscreen display with USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity.
On the safety front, it will get two airbags as standard and six airbags for the top trims. Driver aids like ABS with EBD and ESP will be available. The Hexa also gets driving modes where you can choose between Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road modes or just leave it in Auto for it to choose the optimum option.....
Under the hood, you will have the Varicor 400 – a 2.2-litre turbocharged four cylinder diesel engine – that develops 154bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as well as a six-speed torque converter automatic. It also gets an all-wheel drive system but it is only restricted to the manual gearbox. The entry level XE trim gets the Varicor 320 engine with 148bhp of power and 320Nm of torque mated to a five-speed manual gearbox....
The Hexa competes head to head against the Mahindra XUV500. If you do not need a seven-seater, you could also opt for a Hyundai Creta and save a bit and if you want more power, the Toyota Innova is not too far away up the price ladder...
